The Cupertino Symphonic Band, founded in 1989 by alumni of Cupertino High School, is a Silicon Valley–based nonprofit community wind ensemble open to all wind and percussion players. Its membership of more than 45 musicians represents communities across the South Bay and reflects a wide range of professions and life experiences.
Under the direction of conductor Jason McChristian, a Peninsula performing arts educator, the band presents a series of free public concerts each year. For today’s performance, the ensemble is led by assistant conductor Pablo Morales, a teacher and clarinetist.
